New Look, an Update and a Story!

I’ve been brushing up on my PhotoShop skills, and updated the website! It’s not exactly what I’m looking to achieve with the look, but my skills are a little rusty! But seriously, I’d love some constructive criticism. I’m tough, I can take it!

Today will consist of listening to TLOP in its entirety and cleaning. I was going to do pedis and lunch with the girls, but yet another curveball has been thrown my way. Luckily, I played softball throughout childhood and was a shortstop.

Speaking of which, I’m going to tell you guys a story about this cat lady I met on a plane, after the jump (i.e. the video).

My darling Sheila, my Sebring is starting to show her age and now has a bad fuel something, or another. It’s just my luck when I was planning on driving back to Toledo in the next week. Sounds like I’ll have to come up with a new plan to fly in. I’ll keep you updated as I know more!

I’m going to tell you guys a quick story about flying back to Ohio this past Thanksgiving.
Close friends know that I love cats. I had cats during my early childhood, my teenage years and on. Renee and I will even send each other funny cat things, because the joke is that I’m going to be an old, crazy cat lady. While I do have a boyfriend, who doesn’t mind cats, sometimes I feel like it’s going to play out where I’ll have five cats. What can I say, cats like me and I’ve been thinking about life goals recently.
As I was getting on the plane, there was a lady wearing a “Cecil. Lives. ON!” t-shirt.
(Not exactly this shirt, but I you get the idea.)
Knowing that people get pretty passionate about their love for animals, I filed this in the back of my mind. Her name was Susan Kay, and she was returning home after playing softball in “an old farts league” (her words, not mine!). “She has my middle name AND she plays softball, like, kick-ass!” I thought. As we continued to talk, I find out that she was a police officer as well, serving her city for 30 years. Even better! So, she’s retired and is enjoying her life! She shows me and the other passenger a painting she bought. It was of a black cat! It was very ‘Pink Panther.’ Then, that opened up the floodgates to discussions about… What else? Cats!
Keep in mind that I had a really rough evening prior to this flight (it was my boo’s 30th birthday and we were throwing out my mattress instead of celebrating).
So, I’m a little punch-drunk, but I start talking to her about her cats. Take a wild guess at how many cats this lady has?
Wait for it….
Wait for it….

Yes, honey, Susan Kay has 16 cats!!! I had met the ULTIMATE cat lady! Like, she and her husband have an indoor/outdoor contraption, even! I shit you not! But, you know what? She was the nicest human being I’ve ever met on a plane. She gave me some chocolates, and even offered to buy me a cheeseburger during our layover. We didn’t sit next to each other during the second leg of our trip, but I think when I make it back to Ohio, I might go grab that cheeseburger… And meet her cats.
