The CanSurvivor’s Network aims to be one of your first stops when learning you or someone you know has heard those dreaded three words, “you have cancer.” Much of the information available is disconnected, which is a barrier to care that is frustrating for all involved. According to the American Bankruptcy Institute, medical expenses are the number one cause of bankruptcy filings in the United States. An aspect of fulfilling our vision of eliminating financial toxicity in the Cancer Universe is two-fold: Educating consumers on ethically supporting cancer-related and patient owned ventures, and promoting such organizations directly. We offer free exposure to any venture through redirects from our shop.

Budgeting: Expense Forecasting & Planning
The CanSurvivor’s Network takes budgeting seriously. After a near-collapse of the organization, we grabbed the bull by the horns and eliminated more than $40,000 of debt by micromanaging all income and expenditures, working with creditors, utilizing a 50/30/20 plan, and getting serious about ownership. Financial Management
Currently, we serve as the Financial Manager for the Build Hope Project with the Virginia-based non-profit organization I Rock My Scars. The Build Hope Project is a partnership with I Rock My Scars and the Virginia Housing Development Authority‘s (VHDA) Acquire, Renovate, Sell program, offering homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income (LMI) first-time homebuyers.
As the Financial Manager, The CanSurvivor’s Network manages the overall scope of project-related finances, tracks/reconciles all project-related revenue and expenses, and submits weekly finance reports to the Program Manager and Grant Administrator.

Our primary specialty is marketing. One of our core tenets is to challenge the status quo in order to foster inclusivity. We enjoy working with businesses of all sizes, and particularly specialize in women-owned organizations.
Branding
A conglomerate lives in you! One of our favorite projects was for CEO Cathy L. Parker: An Activist, Entrepreneur, Leader, and Rebel. Like the star she is, her five businesses were in need of a centralized location to attract customers, advertise her services, and promote her philanthropic ventures.
