When I started this blog after diagnosis, I didn’t know where it would take me. In fact, I lost my way a few times and the proof of that is in my posting history! There was a time where I didn’t want to be me because breast cancer made me feel “othered” from my peers in a world where #squadgoals are everything.
Since attending the Young Survival Coalition’s yearly summit in Orlando this February, a change has sparked in me: I finally began to feel alive again. I started putting myself first: getting my weekly routines in order, going to necessary appointments, and focusing on my own mental health. The biggest thing I’ve done for myself this year is that I have given myself permission to tell my story to the world, in the form of a podcast. Yes, I have a podcast now!
